OUR HISTORY

Built on a vision for better oral health

Our story began in the 1970s, when Eugene Skourtes, DMD co-founded the first Willamette Dental location in Portland, OR. At a time when dentistry was largely driven by a fee-for-service model, he championed a different approach—one centered on preventive care and long-term oral health.

Through the 1980s and 1990s, Willamette Dental grew steadily, pioneering prepaid dental plans and expanding patient care across the Pacific Northwest. In the 2000s, we embraced innovation, investing in research, education, and technology to improve experiences for both patients and providers.
