PORTLAND, ORE. – Willamette Dental Group employees and families gathered at King Park in Portland on June 17 for the city’s 51st annual Juneteenth festival and parade to show support for the African American community.
The company’s African American Collaborators Network (AACN) Affinity Group organized a booth at Albina Park on June 17 & 18 for the festival that celebrated Freedom Day and shared in live music, authentic food, and community. Valuable information was shared with participants about oral health and career opportunities in dentistry. The festival provided an enlightening experience as this was the first since Covid-19 and the signing of Juneteenth as a federal holiday in 2021. Team members joined the parade marchers for the first time and plan to return next year. The team united together with the energetic crowds of people celebrating freedom and truth.
